About
vibeOS is a desktop where the agent writes each window as you ask for it. It runs as a container with root access, so the interface it generates is wired to a real shell, a real filesystem and a real browser — not a picture of one.
It started as a hackathon project and it is still one. It is an experiment about where this goes, not a product with a roadmap. The source is MIT and the issues are open.
I'm Aleksey Bykhun. These days I work on agent experience and run evals for coding agents at 2027.dev, helping companies make their SDKs and APIs easier for agents to use. vibeOS is where a lot of that curiosity came from.
Three projects, one name
This one — a container that generates real, running UI.
Steve Sanderson's — a hallucinated OS simulation demoed at Microsoft Build. The HTML is generated per click, but nothing executes behind it.
kaansenol5's — an actual aarch64 operating system built with coding agents, which boots on a Raspberry Pi.

This site still gets a few hundred visits a day from people who are curious about it. If you want to build vibeOS into something, I'd rather that than let it sit. Open an issue or just tell me what you'd make.
